Eine Hochzeit an einem wunderschönen Frühlingstag | Die kirchliche Trauung von Verena & Lukas
Insgesamt ist es in Österreich sehr üblich, dass Paare zweimal heiraten.
Keine Sorge, die Scheidungsrate ist sehr, sehr hoch.
Die Paare entscheiden sich, im Standesamt der Stadt und dann in der Kirche zu heiraten. So können Paare eine kleine, intime Hochzeit feiern, wenn sie heiraten, und später mit all ihren Freunden und ihrer Familie in der Kirche. Einige gute Freunde von mir, Lukas und Verena, haben genau das getan.
In den unsicheren Zeiten Anfang der 2020er Jahre beschlossen sie, im Standesamt in Zell am Ziller zu heiraten. Sie baten mich, mitzukommen und ein paar schöne Fotos zu machen. Ursprünglich gingen wir ins Zillertaler Regionalmuseum. Wenn Sie sich diese Fotos ansehen möchten, schauen Sie in diesem Blog nach.
Nachdem sich die Lage wieder normalisiert hatte, konnten sie sich auf die große, aufwendige Angelegenheit konzentrieren. Sie taten dies mit einer wunderschönen Hochzeit in einer örtlichen Kirche mit all ihren Freunden und ihrer Familie. Das Wetter war ein wunderschöner Frühlingstag, besonders für die Berge, und alle hatten Spaß.
Wir machten die Porträtaufnahmen in ihrem Haus in den Bergen mit Blick auf das untere Zillertal. Sie trug das wunderschöne weiße Kleid, das zur Ästhetik und Schönheit des Tals im Frühling passte. Er trug die traditionelle österreichische Kleidung aus dem Zillertal, die lokal als Tuxer bekannt ist! (nichts, was man an einem heißen Sommertag tragen möchte, aber die Leute tun es trotzdem).
Die anschließenden Feierlichkeiten fanden in einem örtlichen Gasthof statt, dem Hubertus Hof im Dorf Laimach. Ein beliebtes Restaurant unter den Einheimischen für seine außergewöhnlich gute Küche und spezialisiert auf Wild. Sehr viele Jäger aus dieser Region Österreichs bringen ihre Fänge in den Hubertus Hof. Er ist weithin als eines der besten Wildrestaurants in Tirol bekannt. Es wurde gegessen, Bier und Wein getrunken und die jüngeren Gäste tranken einen frechen Schnaps.
Das Brautpaar nahm dann am traditionellen ersten Tanz teil. Nach dem Tanz kamen die jungen Männer und Frauen herein und tanzten mit dem Paar. Nur um sie dann für die Tradition des „Brautraubs“ wegzuholen. Diese Tradition ist im ganzen Zillertal bekannt. Alle jungen Männer stehlen die Braut und entführen sie in ein Gasthaus oder eine Bar irgendwo in der Nähe. In letzter Zeit ist es auch üblicher geworden, dass alle jungen Damen den Bräutigam zu einer ähnlichen Veranstaltung entführen. Die Trauzeugin und der Trauzeuge müssen auf der Party bleiben und sich dann auf die Suche nach dem vermissten Paar machen. In der Zeit zwischen dem Weggang des Trauzeugen/der Trauzeugin und dem Auffinden der vermissten Paare trinkt die jüngere Generation so viel sie kann. Sie tanzt auch so viel sie kann mit ihrer gefangenen Gruppe. Wie Sie sich vorstellen können, führt dies zu einigen sehr lustigen Ergebnissen und einigen ziemlich betrunkenen Brautpaaren!
Alle Getränke, die in dieser Zeit getrunken werden, werden dann vom Trauzeugen/der Trauzeugin bezahlt. Je schneller sie sie finden, desto billiger ist es für sie.
Sobald alle gefunden wurden, kehren sie von nun an zur Party zurück, um die Feier fortzusetzen und eine unvergessliche Nacht zu verbringen.
A wedding on a beautiful spring day | The church wedding of Verena & Lukas
In all it’s very common for couples to get married twice in Austria.
No don’t worry about the divorce rate being very very high.
It’s the couples decide to get married through the registry office in town and then at the church. This allow couples to have a small intimate wedding when they get married, and then later with all their friends and family at the church. Some good friends of mine Lukas and Verena did exactly this.
During the uncertain times of the early 2020s they decided to get married at the registry office in Zell am ziller. They asked me to come and join them to create some lovely photographs. Originally, we went down at the Zillertaler regional museum, if you want to have a look at those photos have a look at this blog.
Once things had returned to normal, they could then concentrate on the big lavish affair. They did this with a beautiful wedding at a local church with all their friends and family. the weather was beautiful spring day, especially for the mountains and fun was had by all.
We took the portrait shots up at their house, in the mountains overlooking the lower Zillertal. She went in the beautiful white dress, matching the aesthetic and beauty of the valley in spring. He was in the traditional Austrian clothing from the Zillertal, locally known as the Tuxer!. (not something you’d want to wear on a hot summers day but people still do).
The celebrations afterwards took place in a local Gasthof, the Hubertus Hof situated in the village of Laimach. A popular restaurant amongst the locals for its exceptionally good cuisine and specialising in wild game. A great many of the hunters from this region of Austria bring their catches to the Hubertus Hof. it is widely renowned as one of the best wild game restaurants in the Tirol.
Food was eaten, beer & wine was drunk, with a cheeky schnapps drunk by the younger crowd.
The bridal couple then take part in the traditional first dance. On finishing dance, the young men and women come in and danced with the couple. Only then to whisk them off for the tradition of "stealing of the bride". This tradition is renowned throughout the Zillertal. All of the young men steal the bride and whisk her off to a Gasthof or a bar somewhere nearby. It has also become common more recently for all the young ladies to whisk the bridegroom off to a similar affair. The matron of honour and the best man have to remain at the party and then go out on a search trying to find the the missing couple. in the time between the best man/matron of honour leaving and finding the missing couples the younger generation drink as much as they can. Also dancing with their captive party as much as they can. as you can imagine this leads to some very funny outcomes and some quite drunk bridal couples!
All of the drinks drunk in this time and then paid for by the best man/maid of honour so the quicker they find them the cheaper than it is for them.
Once all have been found, they return henceforth to the party to continue the celebrations and have a night to remember.
