Ich weiß, dass dies wahrscheinlich eine der am häufigsten gestellten Fragen sowohl von meiner Seite als auch von meinen Kunden ist. „Was machen wir, wenn das Wetter schlecht ist?“

Aus diesem Grund haben wir für jede Hochzeit, die wir fotografieren, einen Schlechtwetterplan.

Wir leben hier in den Bergen und leider wird hier das Wetter gemacht! Wir haben Tage, an denen es herrlich heiß ist, und Tage, an denen es sintflutartig regnet, und dann jede Kombination dazwischen.

Yasmin und Markus hatten sich den August für ihre Hochzeit ausgesucht, aber genau wie der Rest von uns hatten sie keinen Einfluss darauf, was Mutter Natur an diesem Tag tun würde.

Meine persönliche Einstellung besteht darin, die gute Seite der Sache zu sehen und das Beste aus dem herauszuholen, was man hat. Erstens ist das Licht an einem regnerischen Tag absolut fantastisch, mit einem schönen, sanften Glanz um die Hauttöne und wunderschönen weichen Schatten. Außerdem kommt die Natur noch mehr zur Geltung, Grüntöne werden grüner und alle Farben etwas lebendiger.

Das Wichtigste, woran man sich an einem verregneten Hochzeitstag erinnern sollte, ist, es zu akzeptieren und positiv zu sein, denn meine Großmutter pflegte zu sagen: „Wir bestehen nicht aus Zucker!“ (Und ja, ich verstehe, was Haare und Make-up betrifft, aber deshalb haben wir es Sonnenschirme und Bäume!).

Es mag den größten Teil des Tages geregnet haben, aber ich kann ehrlich sagen, dass wir bei diesem Fotoshooting den größten Spaß hatten und dieser Spaß bis weit in die Nacht hinein anhielt, als wir mit der Familie und den Freunden, die anwesend waren, feierten.

Man muss nur sehen, dass das Glas tatsächlich halb voll ist (und durch den Regen wird es sogar noch voller!)

I know that this is probably one of the most asked questions both from my side and also from my clients. “What do we do if it is bad weather?”

Well this is why we have a bad weather plan for each and every wedding that we shoot.

We live here in the mountains and unfortunately this is where the weather is made! We have days that are gloriously hot and days when it is torrential rain, and then every combination in between.

Yasmin & Markus had chose August for their wedding but just like the rest of us had no say in what mother nature was going to do on that day.

My personal outlook is to see the good side of it and make the most if what you have got. Firstly the light on a rainy day is utterly fantastic with a lovely soft wrap around glow to the skin tones and beautiful soft shadows. Also the nature is brought out even more, greens become greener and all of the colours a little more vibrant.

The most important thing to remember during a rainy wedding day is to accept it and be positive, as my grandmother use to say “we’re not made of sugar!’ (and yes I understand about hair and makeup but that is why we have umbrellas and trees!).

It may have rained for most of the day but, I can honestly say that we had the most fun during this photo-shoot and that fun was carried over long into the night of celebrating with the family and friends who were attending.

You just have to see the glass is actually half full (and because of the rain it is actually getting fuller!)
